Early Keyboard Festival

Since part of the Mobbs Keyboard Collection now has its home in the stunning setting of Golden Bay, it is only logical that plans are underway for a summer music festival. With the collection as its focus, the festival will combine a significant musical experience - in the form of masterclasses, workshops and concerts - with one of the loveliest holiday destinations New Zealand has to offer. Imagine one day working through Haydn’s London Sonatas on a 1798 Kirckman Grand Pianoforte; the next, walking the magnificent coastal tracks of the Abel Tasman National Park.

In keeping with similar European festival models, the Golden Bay Early Keyboard Festival will feature the best keyboard performers from this part of the world, augmented by chamber music colleagues and an array of budding early keyboard players keen to experience one of the finest collections of early pianos in the Southern Hemisphere.

Please bookmark this page, as we will update the site when the inaugural festival is launched and registration information is available.
